The 2023 Somerset Regional made history as the first-ever official FLL tournament held on Tasmania’s NW Coast. Hosted by GreenSTEM Education, the event gave students the opportunity to compete locally rather than travelling to Launceston, Hobart, or participating online. Schools from across the North, North-West, and West Coasts joined to showcase their talents in robot design, programming, innovation, and teamwork.
Held on Saturday, 16th November at the UTAS Cradle Coast Campus and The Makers Technology and Innovation Hub, the 2024 Burnie Regional introduced FLL to the broader community, drawing over 500 attendees throughout the day. Set against the stunning backdrop of Burnie Beach and Bass Strait, the event celebrated the creativity and technical excellence of young people across the region.
