GreenSTEM Education is proud to host the 2024 FLL Burnie Regional (only the second time an FLL regional has ever been held on the NW Coast) in partnership with UTAS Cradle Coast Campus. We are sure that this year's Burnie Regional will have one of the greatest views of any FLL tournament in the country, with our beautiful Burnie Beach and unbeatable views out to Bass Strait forming a stunning backdrop for the Robot Game rounds!
This event will be open to the community and serve as a great opportunity to showcase some of the awesome achievements in STEM being made by young people across the region.
We have launched a fundraising campaign to help cover the expenses of running this event and to support schools and community groups from across the NW Coast and surrounding regions to participate (priority will be given to new teams and public schools with an ICSEA rating of 1000 or below). Please give generously and share widely: Donate (paypal.com)
Volunteer and team registrations are open now! Volunteers can sign up on the FIRST Australia dashboard www.firstaustralia.systems (account creation required) or reach out to us directly.
Please contact us to discuss sponsorship options for your business.
We greatly appreciate all support in helping make this awesome STEM opportunity possible for the young people of NW Tasmania and surrounding regions.
A huge thank you to the Burnie City Council for their generous support in making the 2024 FIRST Lego League Regional as accessible and impactful as possible.

GreenSTEM Education proudly organised, sponsored and ran the 2023 FIRST Lego League Challenge Somerset Regional - the first ever FLL tournament to be held in the region, with students previously needing to travel to Launceston, Hobart, or participate online. With the only other Tasmanian event being in Hobart in 2023, the Somerset Regional was attended by teams from all over the North, North-West and West Coasts of Tasmania.
GreenSTEM Education congratulates Leighland Christian School on hosting the 2023 FLL National Championships South in Ulverstone, NW Tasmania (see above video for highlights). GreenSTEM Education was proud to support the event through providing volunteers and resources, in addition to having three of our teams participate and successfully represent their schools, city and state against the best FLL teams from Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia.
GreenSTEM Education currently supports FLL teams from Montello Primary School, Somerset Primary School and the Burnie Community House. We plan to extend support to NW Tasmania-based public schools and community groups to participate in FLL. Teams from Montello and Somerset have already experienced great success in their relatively short time participating in FLL, with teams having won numerous awards including Champion’s Award, Rising All-Stars Award, Core Values Award and Innovation Project Award.
