What makes STEM Unlimited different?

STEM Unlimited is built on access, opportunity, and real-world learning.

There are:

  • No fees
  • No barriers based on school or background
  • No limits on what students can explore

Participants are supported to:

  • Follow their interests and passions
  • Work at their own pace
  • Collaborate with others
  • Build real skills through hands-on projects

Students are encouraged to bring their own device (BYOD) where possible, helping them build independence and continue their learning beyond sessions.

Opportunities Available

STEM Unlimited offers a wide range of high-quality STEM opportunities, including:

FIRST LEGO League

Students can participate in FIRST LEGO League, working in teams to design, build and program robots while solving real-world challenges.

GreenSTEM teams have achieved outstanding success, including qualification for National Championships in consecutive years.

Greenpower Goblin

Students can engage in Greenpower Australia through the Goblin category—designing, building and racing electric vehicles.

This provides a powerful introduction to engineering, teamwork and motorsport, with pathways into more advanced programs.

Digital Technologies & Game Development

Students design and develop their own video games, learning programming, art, sound design and interactive systems using industry-relevant tools.

CAD & 3D Printing

Participants learn computer-aided design (CAD) and bring ideas to life through 3D printing—developing real-world skills in design, prototyping and engineering.

Science & Engineering Projects

Students explore their own ideas through science investigations and engineering challenges, including projects for competitions and events.

Who is it for?

STEM Unlimited is open to young people from Grades 4–10, from any school or education setting—including public, private and home education.

The program is designed for students of all abilities, backgrounds and experience levels. Whether someone is completely new to STEM or already highly experienced, there are opportunities to get involved, build skills and be challenged.

Students join a supportive, collaborative environment where they can:

  • Try new things without pressure
  • Develop confidence at their own pace
  • Work alongside and learn from others
  • Progress into more advanced opportunities over time

Many students attending STEM Unlimited are engaging in STEM opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.

Why it matters

STEM Unlimited is more than an after-school program—it is a pathway into future opportunities.

Through consistent participation, students:

  • Build confidence in STEM
  • Develop real technical and problem-solving skills
  • Discover new passions and career pathways
  • Connect with like-minded peers and mentors

Experienced participants often take on leadership roles, supporting and encouraging others—helping build a strong and inclusive STEM community.

STEM Unlimited is made possible through the support of partners, sponsors and the community. While participation is free, donations and sponsorship support are welcomed and help us continue to expand opportunities for young people.
